Lock Mechnism

The video below shows a step by step guide to how to build a lock mechanism for a combination safe. As always the designs are available to download and below a full description of the project.

Stage 1
To begin I designed all of the pieces that I would need on 2D design. I then used the laser cutter to cut and engrave all of the pieces out of 3mm ply. 

Stage 2
I then used a table saw to cut two identical rectangles of 12mm ply wood mm X mm. I then drilled two holes in the wood 15mm in diameter where the two pieces of dowel would slot through. To make sure that it is loose I used some sand paper wrapped around a file to remove a small amount of wood. 

Stage 3
I then cut two pieces of 15mm wooden dowel mm long. These should easily turn inside of the holes that I just cut.
